Abstract
Hyperlipidemia is defined as an increase in the lipid content in blood. Citrus sinesis, known as orange (Family Rutaceae). The herb contain flavonoid and Tannin, traditionally used for their anti-aging, anti-oxidant, anti-viral, anti-inflammatory properties, antibacterial, anti-fungal, anthelmintic, anti-parasitic, anti-tumor, anti-bone resorption, anti-diarrheal, anti-allergic, hypolipidemic, anti-microbial, hepatoprotective, gastroprotective effects and lowering cholesterol. The method used for this research was (Rafael A Cox and Mario Garcia-Palmeri 1980) ultra-centrifugation and precipitation method which was used to determine total serum cholesterol, triglycerides, low-density lipoprotein, very low-density lipoprotein and high-density lipoproteins. Group two when fed with high cholesterol diet, mice exhibited a significant (p0.05) increase in total serum cholesterol, triglycerides, low-density lipoprotein, very low-density lipoprotein and a significant (p0.05) decrease in high-density lipoproteins when compared with the normal animal....
