Abstract
The objectives of the study were to analyze the knowledge and perception of infertility among male artisans. The study is a cross-sectional descriptive study conducted in Nnewi North Local Government Area, Nnewi, Anambra State, Nigeria in the year, 2022.  Simple random and modified cluster sampling techniques were used to select 400 male artisans. Data were collected using a semi-structured interviewer-administered questionnaire. The questionnaire elicited questions on the socio-demographic characteristics of the respondents, knowledge, attitude and perception of infertility. Out of 400 copies of questionnaires, 391 copies were correctly filled while 9 were either wrongly filled or discarded. The study showed that the majority of the respondents (62%) had adequate knowledge of infertility, despite the general lack of adequate fertility knowledge, especially in developing countries. This study also showed that a lot of erroneous misconceptions and myths about infertility exist, mostly due to some deeply-rooted socio-cultural norms and religious practices. This has in turn jeopardized the reproductive help of people by hindering them from having positive health-seeking behavior and seeking the appropriate medical help. Knowledge and perception are closely related.  Adequate knowledge of the causes, prevention and appropriate treatment options of infertility should be provided to the general public through community-based fertility awareness programs and reproductive health education, so as to promote the right perception, attitude and positive health-seeking behavior as regards infertility....
