The rectangular notch and the triangular notches (300, 450,600,900 and 1200) were designed and fabricated with standard specifications and precisions. Discharges over the notches experiments were conducted to investigate the characteristics of flow by the triangular notches and the rectangular notch. The differences in the flow rate of water flowing over the notches were observed. The coefficients of discharge of the fluid flow were determined by computation of the experimental values and compared with the accepted values. The experimental procedures were followed to carry out the experiments. The depths of water were adjusted with different heights and tested by recording the time taken to collect some quantities of water in the measuring tank. The time taken was used later to calculate the flow rate of the notches. Using the empirical equation, data obtained after the experiment were tabulated for the calculation of the discharge coefficients.
