Abstract
Over time organizations have been embarking on training and capacity building for their employers so as to enhance productivity and overall performance of the organization. This is due to the recognition of the important role of training and manpower development in attainment of organizational, the efforts of training and manpower development on employees performance using, Alvan Ikoku College Of Education, Imo State as a case study. The study applied structured questionnaires to a sample size of so drawn by simple using descriptive statistics. The finding of the study show that majority (99%) of the respondent over development  enhance efficiency and organizational performance in public sector in Nigeria. Thus, manpower training should be given top priority management attention for human beings constitute the ultimate basis of a nation’s wealth as the pulls other resources together for objective realization. It was therefore, recommended that organization in Nigeria should embrace manpower development and training as corporate and management strategy to continuously improve knowledge skills and attitude required by employee to perform credibly on a given task and cumulatively enhance or optimizes cooperates productivity and profitability.     ...
