Abstract
The present study is to assess the physic-chemical parameter of soil sample from Igbagu reserve forest in Izzi Local Government Area of Ebonyi State. In this investigation, the physicochemical study of soil is based on various parameters like organic carbon, CEC, Nitrogen, Phosphorous, potassium, Iron, Sodium, Calcium, Magnesium, PH and soil moisture. Ten composite soil samples were randomly collected using soil auger at 0.15cm depth at each sampling plot and were taken to the laboratory for analysis. The variation of values were observed in the different parameter due to the soil quality in different plot. The PH value ranges from 5.90 to 6.70 which shows that the soil is acidic in nature, calcium ranges from 1.995-4.908 mol/kg in which soil sample in plot 5 was normal (1.995) and others plot were high, sodium, Aluminum and potassium ranges from 3.817 to 9.248, 1.235-2.331, and 5.299-14.008mol/kg respectively where sodium and potassium content in all the plot were at high ranges while potassium ranges in all the plot indicated normal magnesium and iron content ranges from 4.584 to 18.041mol/kg and magnesium content in plot 1 to 5 were high and plot 7 to 10 have no magnesium content in the location. Moisture content ranges from 18.61 to 36.43 which indicate that the content were high.  However the phytsicochemical parameter study of soil sample have dissimilar values. ...
