The Nigerian stock exchange is a segment of the capital market where financial instruments are bought and sold. The major concept of this research work is to discuss the operation/activities, challenges and achievement of the Nigerian stock exchange. The study locations covered the Nigerian stock exchange Port Harcourt branch. Data from the primary and secondary sources were used. The primary sources were collected through the administration of mail questions and interviews, while data from the secondary source include: Textbooks, Journals, Newspapers, research book text books etc. To achieve this objective, the data collected were subjected to proper analysis using simple percentage method. The hypothesis stated were tested using the chi-square to establish and confirm the reliability and validity of the data. Worthy to mention is the fact that a lot of problems were encouraged during this research work. Both as it concerns the research in relation to other academic work and that of the respondents who were in most cases reluctant to answer the questionnaire, which according to them were considered as workload thereby delaying the researcher on this work.
