Two schools from urban and two schools from the rural parts of this local government area were randomly selected for the study. Checklist and questionnaire were the instruments used for data collection. Scores of students in the last promotion examination were collected and analyzed with t-test of independent variable. Two-tailed test at a significant of 0.05 to find out if there are no significant differences in the average academic performance of students from broken homes between boys and girls and among students form rural and urban area.
