Abstract
This study was fashioned to investigate“the factors contributing to ineffective utilization of immunization programme among mothers in Ekwerazu Town Community Ahiazu Mbaise Local Government Area Imo State”. The objectives of this study are: To investigate the extent of awareness of immunization among mothers in the community. To educate mothers on the usefulness of immunization in every sphere of the child’s life. To assess the cause of ineffective utilization of immunization programme. The study should enlighten mothers on the usefulness of immunization in their child’s health. A sample size of 250 subjects was chosen. Four objectives and research questions were formulated in relation to the topic. A descriptive survey design was used to conduct the study. A simple random sampling was carried out to select a sample and a questionnaire was used as the instrument of data collection. Data collection was systematically analyzed and presented in tables. From the result, it was evaluated that the mothers were aware of immunization services. In spite of their awareness, there is still a gap between knowledge and practice of immunization by these mothers. Based on this recommendation and suggestion for further studies were made. ...
